"In 2019, I underwent a two-level cervical fusion performed by a different surgeon. About a year after the surgery, my right arm began going numb again. Because I had such a terrible experience with that surgeon, I put off seeking treatment for several years.
Fast forward to October 2025. I asked my pain management doctor to order a cervical MRI. When the results came back, they showed that the lower level of my previous fusion had failed and that I was experiencing spinal cord compression.
My doctor called Dr. Gandhi and asked him to review my MRI. Just 15 minutes after I left my pain management appointment, I received a call instructing me to contact Dr. Gandhi’s office. I did, and they scheduled me for the very next day. After reviewing my condition, Dr. Gandhi placed me on the surgery schedule for a laminectomy with fusion in December.
Because of my previous traumatic experience with the other neurosurgeon, I was very nervous. Looking back, I had no reason to be. Dr. Gandhi was absolutely amazing. He genuinely cares about his patients and is dedicated to helping people get out of pain and regain their ability to function in everyday life.
What stood out most was his compassion. He never acted superior or dismissive. Instead, he treated me with kindness, respect, and a level of familiarity that made me feel comfortable and understood. He used the new CORUS system during my procedure, and my results have been incredible.
Today, I can drive, write, apply my makeup, and perform all of my normal daily activities without having to stop every few minutes to stretch my neck and try to restore feeling to my hand. The improvement in my quality of life has been remarkable.
I will always be grateful to Dr. Gandhi—not only for his knowledge and expertise as a neurosurgeon, but also for helping rewrite what had become a very traumatic chapter in my life. He helped restore my trust in doctors and eased the fear that lingered from my first surgery.
In a time when it can be difficult to find a physician who truly listens and genuinely cares about their patients, I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Dr. Gandhi. He is truly one of the great ones."
