Dr. Gautam Gandhi, originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in Osceola, Arkansas, developed a passion for neuroscience during his time at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and Arts in Hot Springs. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee, majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. His undergraduate research at the University of Tennessee focused on pharmacology and cell signaling, leading to multiple publications.
Dr. Gandhi earned both his M.D. and Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), with his research concentrating on brain energy metabolism, functional brain imaging, astroglial networks, and glial-neuronal signaling. His doctorate research was presented internationally at the International Brain Energy Metabolism Meeting in Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland. He also contributed a cover image for the Journal of Neuroscience Research.
After completing his neurosurgical residency at UAMS, Dr. Gandhi pursued a spine fellowship there, further refining his skills in minimally invasive spine surgery and stereotactic radiosurgery. He is board-certified in neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. His practice leverages cutting-edge technologies, such as Mazor X robotic systems and intraoperative 3D navigation, to deliver comprehensive, patient-focused care for a wide range of cranial and spinal conditions.
Dr. Gandhi joined Baptist Neurosurgery Clinic after completing his neurosurgery residency, where he gained extensive experience treating a wide range of neurosurgical conditions. Driven by his commitment to personalized care and the desire to offer the most advanced treatment options, he established his own private practice, Pinnacle Spine and Neurosurgery, to provide tailored, cutting-edge care for each patient.
Dr. Gandhi is actively involved in professional organizations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), the Southern Neurosurgical Society, and the Pulaski County Medical Society. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Cindy, a general surgeon, and their three children. His personal interests include cooking, travel, hiking, and biking. Dr. Gandhi is highly regarded for his expertise in minimally invasive spinal surgeries and stereotactic radiosurgery, which provide faster recovery and better outcomes for patients.
